Optical Flow Computation Based on Analytic Wavelet

  • As two major limitations to applying optical flow to motion estimation, oscillating of wavelet coefficients and cumulative error highly affected precision in calculation. It was proposed that an algorithm for estimating optical flow based on analytic wavelets that suppress the oscillating of wavelet coefficients,and M-estimator that minimizes error of estimation. Experimental resultsshow the applicability of the proposed methods to some benchmark image sequences.
